The SSM&V course offers guidance on performing Measurement and Verification (M&V) in accordance with the NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and Victorian Energy Upgrade program (VEU) requirements.
Referencing the IPMVP framework, it focuses on applying specific M&V methods and highlights the differences between the two schemes through practical examples and case studies.
Participants engage in classroom learning, real-world project development, group exercises and workshops over a six week period.

Training Delivery
This training course will be delivered over a six week period in four parts:
PART 1: Early Coursework
- Online, self-guided study
- Time commitment: 4-8 hours
Participants will be provided both mandatory and recommended reading in order to ensure they are prepared for the classroom component of the training.
This includes a baseline knowledge of:
- M&V
- The ESS & VEU
- Statistics
- The use of spreadsheets
PART 2: Classroom
- In-person
- Time commitment: 24 hours (inc. breaks)
A three-day intensive providing instruction, insights, and the opportunity for practical application of M&V methodologies that meet the requirements of the ESS and VEU.
Date: 9-11 June (9am - 4:30pm, Sydney CBD)
PART 3: Project assignment
- Online, self-guided study
- Time commitment: 8-12 hours
Participants prepare and submit either a PIAM&V ESS or PBAM&V VEU compliant M&V project, and have access to supporting resources.
Participants can attend an optional live session with the trainer in this timeframe if they have any questions about completing this task.
Live session: 25 June (10am - 12pm, Online)
PART 4: Project review
- Time commitment: 2 hours
Participants attend a review session with the trainer andother participants to receive feedback on submitted plans and projects, and discuss the challenges faced.
Date: 16 July (10am - 12pm, Online)
